You guys, I didn’t blog on Friday. Some of you are thinking, “Really? SO?” Well, the thing is, I almost NEVER skip a post. Ever. I’m a planner and I pretty much plan out all of my posts at least 30 days in advance. I’m crazy. It’s just how I work best…

And I had a post planned for Friday.

But life happened…

The Subscription Box for All You Paper & Stationary Lovers | V. Paperie Review (1)

Raise your hand if you’re like me and you LOVE a gorgeous notebook, thank you note, journal, or set of stationary.

Hands raised?

Yeah, me too.

I don’t know if it’s because I was an English major in college or because I’m a creative person by nature or just a lover or people or a combination of all of those things… but I LOVE a personalized, handwritten note. I LOVE taking notes in a journal. I LOVE “kicking it old school” and ditching the ways of digital and just putting literal pen or pencil to paper.

So, when Vanessa emailed me to tell me about her new monthly subscription box, V. Paperie, I legitimately was like, “YASSS GIRRRRL!!!”

The Subscription Box for All You Paper & Stationary Lovers | V. Paperie Review (2)

What is V.Paperie?

V. Paperie is a monthly subscription box filled with beautiful paper, stationary, cards, journals, etc. all done by Vanessa! Everything is BEAUTIFUL and so well designed. It’s PERFECT for the person who just loves to have stuff like that on hand, especially seasonal cards for birthdays, thank yous, holidays, etc.

How does it work?

Each box goes out on the first of the month. You can pay $25 a month or prepay 3- or 6-months at a time (and you get a little discount if you pay in advance). Also, use the code “WELCOME10” for 10% off your first box! Shipping is ALWAYS free! And if you’re month-t0-month, you can cancel at any time… otherwise, you can cancel once your prepaid months are up. 🙂

You can also give it as a gift!! This would be the SWEETEST gift idea for the paper loving friend in your life!

Anyway, I wanted to share with y’all what I got in my September V. Paperie box!

It’s called “It’s Time to Focus” –

September Stitch Fix Review Unboxing

Another month, another Stitch Fix review! This month, I asked my stylist to send me pieces that would transition well to fall and winter and I also told her to send me something fun and/or edgy!

Check out what Kimberly J. sent me this month, what I thought, and what I kept! Also, be sure to read to the end for a really cool Stitch Fix announcement!

Skies are Blue “Delaine Belted Shirt Dress” – Size XL – $68

I know this is a SUPER popular dress among SO many Stitch Fix users… it comes in a couple different colors and is really flattering. So, why didn’t I keep it?

Well, for one, it was just a HAIR on the short size for me. I typically like my dresses to hit right at the knee or below it. I realize it’s not actually that short, but I just don’t like above-the-knee dresses (for the most part).

Second, it was also just a hair tight in the shoulders and so I didn’t feel super comfortable in it.

Third, it’s a brand that I don’t know a lot about as far as their manufacturing goes and since the dress didn’t fit into the “30 Wears” category, I couldn’t justify keeping it.

I think it’s a SUPER cute dress, just not for me this time around. 🙂

Three Tips for Getting the Most Out of Baby's Wardrobe with Carter's (1)

This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Let’s face it: kids are expensive. I mean, obviously they are… but it can be a shock to some as to how quickly costs can rack up when kids come into the picture. And what’s one of the things that can easily cost the most over time? KIDS CLOTHES. They grow out of stuff so fast it’s crazy!

So, when buying kids clothes, I want to shop SMART. And even though I do get a lot of my kids clothes as hand-me-downs, on consignment, through local buy/sell pages, etc… I love getting quality basics that my kids can wear and wear and wear and wear along with other great kid’s fashion from Carter’s!

I thought it would be helpful to share three of my favorite tips for getting the most out of your baby’s wardrobe! These are the tips I’ve used for the past 3 years and I hope they’re helpful!

Three Tips for Getting the Most Out of Baby’s Wardrobe with Carter’s

1. Bodysuits. Bodysuits. Bodysuits.

Both my kids have (and Amos obviously still does) live in bodysuits. Since we didn’t find out the gender of either of our kids before they were born, I got a bunch of gender neutral-colored Carter’s bodysuits and they’ve worked for both my kids (and they’ve even worn them out!) I also love that Carter’s sells the bodysuit packs so you can get the most for your money and get some variety. carters-essential-baby-wardrobe-photo_0034 Continue Reading →

Be Pure Beauty

I have been wanting to share my beloved Be Pure Beauty with you guys in a Friday post for awhile! Since they’re technically not a “Fashion” brand, I’m dubbing this week a #ForGood post because April and her team at Be Pure Beauty are the epitome of living and working for GOOD.

Also, since we had our September triFABB (Triangle Area Bloggers) meetup at Be Pure Beauty, I thought it would be the perfect time to share this AMAZING business with y’all. AND I have to say off the bat… DO NOT FRET, if you don’t live in the Durham / Raleigh, North Carolina area, you can shop Be Pure Beauty online, too!

Be Pure Beauty Durham, North Carolina - Non-toxic, safe, organic, natural beauty and makeup (1)

What is “Be Pure Beauty”?

Be Pure Beauty is a shop that is dedicated to only carrying the purest, most natural, safest beauty products. Everything they carry is made in America (some even local to North Carolina!) and EVERY product is run through multiple databased to make sure the ingredients are the best. They have an online shop AND a brick and mortar store in Durham, North Carolina!

Be Pure Beauty carries natural deodorant (that actually works!), haircare, kids products, and makeup!!!! I love seriously everything they carry and I also love knowing that if I’m using something from their store that it is safe AND effective AND high performing!

On top of being just all around awesome, April also has a huge heart for the community and for giving back. For example, this month, 10% of sales will benefit a local organization called TABLE NC that is helping to put food on the tables of needy people in our community.

April has such a generous heart and just wants to do whatever she can to use her business for good. I LOVE her!! Seriously! We’ve only known each other a couple of months, but I already consider her to be such a genuine and sweet friend.

In addition to mixing and mingling at Be Pure, my girl Em from The Flourish Market also came and set up shop! Ethical beauty AND ethical fashion?! We had a scavenger hunt throughout the store where we had to find clues that led us to the “dirty ingredient” and we learned about the ingredients that are in some of our products that aren’t good for us. That was really eye opening!!

Then, April gave us all a live makeup lesson! She did a smoky eye look and it was gorgeous! She is so knowledgable and SUPER talented. Be Pure Beauty Durham, North Carolina - Non-toxic, safe, organic, natural beauty and makeup (27) Be Pure Beauty Durham, North Carolina - Non-toxic, safe, organic, natural beauty and makeup (28)

As a group, we also collected food and pantry items for TABLE NC as our way of doing a little bit to give back to our community and support Be Pure Beauty’s effort this month, too!

It was such an awesome meetup and we had a great time! (So awesome, in fact, that I totally slacked and took very few pictures! WOOPS!)

ANYWAY, if you are looking for a place to get non-toxic, safe, natural, organic, cruelty free and pure beauty products… you HAVE to check out Be Pure Beauty!
